Apple exchanges Bing for Google

Apple lets Bing fall as search engine within Siri and Spotlight (the search engine in macOS). The iPhone maker exchanges the Google search engine for Google’s google rival.

Apple announces TechCrunch news site that decided to go to Google for consistency. Google is already the default search engine in Safari for iOS and macOS. For users, the choice is fine because all searches within iOS and macOS will yield the same results immediately. Now, Safari will provide you with other search results than when you search through Siri.

Google recently signed a new deal with Apple to remain the default search engine in Safari in the coming years. Google has attracted around 3 billion euros. It is not clear whether the new position within Siri and Spotlight in the deal is included.
